How long are you guys hanging on to your Boveda humidity packs ? I’ve been using the same one’s for almost a year now. I rehydrate them by placing the humidity packs inside a ziplock with a shot glass of distilled water and close up the bag for a couple days.

I got my first batch back in March and they are still good as new, zero crystals in any of them. I'm using the big 68g ones in 500ml Mason jars.

I had some that I was placing in a tupperware container with some water (not touching, of course) for probably 6-7 months, and towards the end I started to notice a bit of a moldy smell coming from them so I tossed them.

Not sure what caused it, as people seem to use theirs for a much longer time. Would love to know though.

The humidity packs were in the tupperware with water for 6-7 months ? If that’s the case then they were in there way too long. I leave the humidity packs in the ziplock for a handful of days. Then I stick them in the mason jars with the flower. I only do this every 4 months or so.

No they were only ever in the Tupperware for a few days at a time until they felt fluffy again. But it was done multiple times over the 6-7 months.

I use them until they feel crystally and dead. (nods) Didn't know you could recharge them. I just got a new batch as a Christmas present so I'm good for a while.

Were you using distalled water to rehydrate them ? Mine smell like weed that’s about it lol.

I was not using distilled water, I'd imagine that's my issue.

Bottled water is better then tap water but to be on the safe side I would stick with only distilled water when it comes to humidification. Distilled water is purified through a boiling process. The water is boiled and the steam is accumulated in a container. Humidifiers disperse minerals (found in tap water) into the air that can leave behind white dust and crusty deposits which can help the accumulation of unhealthy microorganisms. Tap water also contains chlorine, which can clog the humidifier’s pores and reduce it’s efficacy.

Just bought 10 new 8g 58% and 10 8g 62% bovedas with a 58% 60g from Amazon for like 50 bucks yesterday, should be here today with Prime's 1 day shipping. No reason to buy them anywhere else in my opinion.

I have some boveda packs that are between 3 and 4 years old I have recharged them many times and they are still doing fine.

When recharging them do not let them come into direct contact with water it makes the paper funny also I have used only tap water and have had good results.

boveda packs are like opposite of men. If you notice when you first get a boveda pack, they feel like nice soft boob implants.. after a while they get hard.
When guys get hard= they good to go
When a boveda gets hard= Its time to go

Tupperware + I use distilled water 3/4 filled in fuse container cbd isolate came in both cap and glass fuse + boveda
let sit in there till its a pillow(3days) then zip lock bag all of them together I have 20(1,4,8grams)made mistake of buying so many, don't let them dry out and should last for a long time.

They sell Mason style jars in all groceries. Canadian Tire is good for selection. They are all bone cheap.

I have to hide mine, 12 year old in house , so love Rubbermaid Tupperware clicks/stacks together and
I can throw in duffel bag.
Boveda are super cheap if you use the Toronto hemp company

I made an accidental discovery recently that goes against what I experienced with water coming into contact with the boveda pack.

I was trying to recharge 12 packs in a container with a glass full of water with a paper towel draped over the side of the cup. The paper towel wicked all of the water out of the glass almost submerging all of my packs for most of the day and waterlogged by the time I discovered what had happened.

I thought all of my packs were ruined. I Pulled them from the water carefully handled and patted the water off of them and let them dry on papertowel for a couple of hours they turned out as good as when I first bought them, that was a week ago and they seem to be working perfectly with no affects on the Boveda paper whatsoever.

Just be careful, I don't think over-saturating them like that is a good idea. Bovedas are two way humidity control, they'll release humidity when it's dry and they'll soak up humidity when it's too wet. If you ever put weed that is a bit too humid with one of those overloaded bovedas, it won't be absorbing and you'll get excessive moisture fast.

Believe it or not they aren't overloaded they seemed to have soaked up as much water that whatever those crystals are able to and no more.

I call on anyone willing to try soaking just one of your boveda packs and report back with your findings.

Kind of my point, if they are sitting in water and can't soak up any more of it, how are they going to soak up humidity from a bud that's already too wet? Not that it happens often to get too wet weed from a MOM (never happened to me anyway lol).

I use empty spaghetti sauce jars as well as some Ikea jars. Both PC brand and name brand pasta sauce comes in mason jars, so if I ever need new a jar, I just buy me some food in a jar, eat that food, and reuse the jar. I have some weed in a yeast jar, some weed in an olive jar, some weed in a jam jar... has the word 'jar' become a lil jarring yet? XD

So I personally use herbguard that I get off amazon. I found when using mason jars, some smell would still leech out. I tried cvault.. but they made my 3inthepink have an awful metallic taste.. I gave a nug to the owner of pufflevel and he confirmed that the batch didn’t have that taste whatsoever. I put it back in a herbguard and placed it in the garage with no lid.. hope it clears up. I know tons of people use cvault with no issues... but I purchased 3 jars, only one leeched the taste in the flower, but I found myself so paranoid about ruining my $140/hO flower that I said f it and returned them all.

The herbguard jars work as promised, but they are WAYYY too expensive. i only purchase new jars whenever I have extra cash.. otherwise I store my flower in the jars they come in (as long as they’re air-tight, no plastic crap). I purchase craft so a lot of my orders come already in a jar of some sort.

we just ordered a bunch of packs and will be starting to send out all orders with one
