Packaging -
The usual nondescript mailer with no smell leakage. Inside was a vacuum sealed bag full of plastic labeled bags. It was wrapped sufficiently to not be palpable.

91 Supreme Duke Nukum - AAAA - 4.5/5
Half of the contents were mashed onto the top of the lid, which is kindly protected from being permanently lost in the grooves by a plastic inset. The jar itself is glass, nice and high quality, I’d rather have this than an expensive eye creme anyway! Hah! It’s 1:30 in the afternoon but I’m self employed, so as soon as I finished the data entry part of my work that requires me to be able to like… think… I cracked this out and had a dab. I then finished the dab, wrote this paragraph, and started reaching for my vape to set up a second dab when it hit like a sudden surprise wave of high. Okay, not surprise, I was dabbing…

The flavor is present; pine is the first note I pick up, a bitter winter sweetness, accompanied by a little classy weedy pungent gas. The packaging says floral, it’s true some flowers don’t smell particularly sweet!

Vaporizes leaving very little residue, quite smooth, easy to handle. The hits get a lot harsher as it goes on.

I usually select flowers so I can enjoy myself a leisurely session but I have to say, this is very nice. I went through two dabs and I am sailing now! If you want/need to get medicated fast with no odour as a heavier user, I suspect concentrates are the only way to go. Sent me back to sleep, which was exactly what I wanted at the time… I was in that awkward head space where I had woken up too early to do some work before a deadline and now was awaketired. Anyway, I figured dabbing might sort that out one way or the other and it did. I use a lot and two dabs got me pretty high very fast. Really enjoyed this product.


Buds-
All at weight, or slightly over, usually by .3 but up to .10, with a few very tiny popcorn pieces to bring it to that weight. It's extremely precise. All of the buds are packaged in “step up from regular zippy” bags that are black on the back, mostly clear window on the front, with a sticker indicating the strain, sativa/hybrid/indica, weight, and which item in the order it is. One thing of note was the stickers which say 1/5, 2/5, etc… an organizational touch I’ve never encountered before which is helpful for large orders. Printed sticker with the strain information which could be carefully removed if someone wanted. No bodevas.


Alice in Wonderland - AAA hybrid - 4.2/5
Fluffy green buds, powerfully aromatic with a sweet floral overtone. This is the most fluffy of the bunch, all of the rest fit on my scale to weigh.

What’s that you say, weed? Smoke me? Well, all right.

Tastes like it smells, floral and sweet, though with a few tokes to explore the flavor, it broadens out to include notes of chocolate and pastries, all very sweet and enjoyable delicate notes. A fabulous happy euphoric high that would be suitable for both day and night use, I think. An incredible smoke, goes down smoothly and hits hard and euphoric in joint form. The sweetness is more pronounced in a vaporizer and the euphoria is more pronounced with smoke. Load this one into your craziest bong for the best time.


Bruce Banner #3 - AAAA sativa dominant - 5/5
This is the strain I requested for my contest win so yes, that’s right, I got 7 grams of this free and I am happy to report I LOVE this strain! It tastes great, sticky, piney and a dank nose on it. Dense nuggets full of THC all the way down, kicks in fast and furious, highly energizing and creative high like chugging an energy drink, just like you would expect from our big green friend. I picked up my novel and finished the scene I was working on and now it looks like our heroine might get lucky…

Beautiful dense nuggets with lots of little orange hairs. I shared it with a sativa-loving friend and she also loved it.


Purple Urkle - AAA hybrid - 4/5
Notes of grape and skunk right off the bat, crawls up into your mouth and lets off a nice skunky sigh. Drier cure than BB3 and slightly less quality trim, but still very nice. Smooth vapor that I found built into a rougher feeling, it’s easy to go through a few bowls of it because of its lower grade. The resulting high is relaxing and distracting from all the little aches and pains of the world. A nice evening option, flavourful and packs a punch at a fair price. I don’t think I’d go out of my way to seek it out but it’s not a bad AAA.


Black Diamond - AA indica - 4.8/5
Packs an incredible punch for its price, the main thing of note is the squished, lower quality, drier bud. It’s potent, flavorful, maintains a peppery bite for a while which tastes delicious, creamy smooth and spicy all at once. A great night time smoke, I may get this one again since I just had the sample! Great example of their AA buds, a worthy contender. The vapor lasts for ages and the high builds up to a very functional couchlock, in at least that I can type but I’m not sure about the rest of me… I would recommend this as a budget indica option if you’re feeling like going through several bowls or passing it around with friends because of how well the flavor holds up. I’m rating it based on its price point and rating, of course; if this were presented as a quad I would not be impressed… but it’s a great budget option. It’s a $150 ounce pre-coupon.


Durban Poison - AAA - pure sativa - 5/5
A personal favourite strain, I have tried many examples of Durban Poison. This example is stinky, extremely terpy with a skunky/gas/spice/pine odour which has earned its name of “poison”. The smaller buds are a light lime green, medium density, with a sprinkle of orange and brown throughout. It’s not a night time strain yet in it goes; it’s 1:23 in the morning and I have a novel to write. Bring it on, espresso of cannabis! Excellent AAA quality bang for buck. Its trim isn’t flawless and the nuggets are smaller, which is I think the only reason it isn’t a quad… otherwise the potency is a similar level to the Bruce Banner. Bruce is a hybrid though, so I found the DP had a bit more kick which could shoot someone into anxiety. I believe this AAA is probably safe enough for most users to try, but if you're prone to anxiety I would steer away.

Vapor is smooth and warm, a flavor not unlike a chai tea latte. I am personally quite pleased. Vapor lasted for a while and carried with it the energizing surge effect I expect from this strain. The flavor is nicer than some examples which have felt more “poisonous”. Not a bedtime strain!


The Cookie -
Tastes delicious, the fact that it’s a tainted cookie is obvious but it’s still a really good sugar cookie. I have no qualms recommending it on taste alone, unless you don’t want a super sweet cookie. I have eaten half of it, because I’ve had edibles sneak up and destroy me from behind. Report to come. About 3 hours later, I got slapped with some dry mouth and a zoned out edible brain. I suspect given my tolerance I could have eaten the whole cookie. That said, I’m seeing auras. I ate the other half the next day and ended up stuck lying on my face on the couch for half an hour because I COULD NOT MOVE. 5/5

In short-
GanjaWest has some great deals, fair priced product, a great selection of modest priced products and great sales. Their AAAs held up as more than just a viable option for when I share with friends with a lower tolerance than me. Instead I find myself reaching for some Durban Poison or some Alice in Wonderland when using on my own during the day. I’m sure I’ll be back in the future for those days when I want to buy me some mids. While I’ve encountered superior cannabis, the free shipping at $99 is a notable perk for me.

All in all it was a very enjoyable experience. As always, I rate on the experience of the order I’m reviewing and this one was great.

Anyways, recently won their giveaway as well. 4th place got me 3.5 grams. I chose the Purple Space Cookies. AAAA, but doesn't smoke like it. Kinda of harsh on the exhale, high was short lasting, burns dark ash and omg packaging it came in was the worst I've seen from any MoM lmao. (Shitty packaging may be due to the small order). Was sent in an envelope that was half open. Anyone could've opened it and sealed it back. Grateful for my prize winnings, but not sure if I would submit a legit order with them. Maybe I'll wait out until a sale, but for now I'll stick with my go-to MoMs.

Right? When I saw his 9.5 rating i was like damm. I thought I was too critical and picky. But then again I only had one strain to sample. The strain I had was easily a 3/10. Lacking potency and everything else a AAAA bud should be. =/

I am rating based on this single experience. I acknowledge that other people have received less awesome of packages from GanjaWest. They were aware I was going to review and probably curated the package and sent me nice shit which is why I disclosed that I only purchased three of those items. Had I received only what I purchased I probably would have rated them lower but they do get a brownie point point in there for sending me an unnecessarily generous amount of freebies. I am totally disclosing that. I review everything I get and if I purchase from GanjaWest in the future and get a disappointing order then I will be sure to say. I would like to hope that they reviewed earlier orders and have tightened up their product and not just that they sent me nicer stuff knowing I was going to review.

The quad I received wasn't up to like, Green Ace or Speed Greens standards so I wouldn't go out of my way for quads from them, I'll be honest. I'd much sooner go to either of them. I definitely have days where I just want to burn through a ton of mids and smoke/vape all day... I can definitely see myself wanting more of this Durban Poison for that. I can see myself ordering it again.

I haven't ironed out my metric completely, this review business is sort of a growing work in progress. For the record, current my internal grading scale goes from "preground Mexican brickweed" at 0, "the schwag I got in Jamaica in a brown paper bag for 5 dollars" at like a 1 to "the Greenhouse strain I made the mistake of trying from Budmail" at 2 to "the weird looking OG kush I got from a guy on the street" at 3. I consider these to be notably all lower in quality than all of GanjaWest's offerings. Do you (this is the general you) think I should adjust? I want to have space for if I get anything as awful as I have used in the past, basically. Which would be "my expectations are low", haha, yeah... I lived in a rural tiny town when I grew up... I've had some shitty buds... I'm also trying to rate individual flowers based on how they held up on their presented price/quality point, not overall quality. Maybe I should add a couple of variables? Hmm.

I guess everyone rates their stuff different, it's a very subjective thing. Personally, price is NOT a factor in how I rate a bud (be it a 0-10 scale or A-AAAA scale). I'll definitely point out weed that has an exceptional quality to price ratio (both trash and amazing), but it won't affect the "weed" rate, it would only affect the "MOM rate" at the top of the review.

As far as the rest goes, my jaw just always drop when I see all those 5/5, 10/10 reviews pop all over the place. I've tried my fair share of MOMs and fuck, I can't say I've had a solid 9/10 flower yet from any of them, let alone a 10/10. I've been smoking weed for a very long time, so I guess I've seen some pretty exceptional stuff in my days.

My overall surprise at this particular review is because I just had 4 samples from them last week and honestly, I can't even be bothered to try them. They don't have much smell, nor are they lookers, they are all a tad dry. I did smoke the Lemon Drop, it's OK weed, no idea how they rate it but IMHO it's like a 3/5 at best. One of the samples is Afghan x Blueberry, listed as an AAAA... and man... Looks like an AA.. Smells like an AA. The other two strains are AA as per their site, so I can't fault them too much. Bottom line is my first impression is closer to 5/10 overall as far as the weed goes... So yeah, a 9.5/10 (a note I never gave to any MOM as of yet after trying 20+) is unsettling to me

I'm sorry you feel that way. Having contemplated it I don't perceive myself as having done anything wrong for crafting my review in my preferred way. I suppose I in turn could consider myself unsettled to feel like I am not allowed give a high rating even when I was satisfied with all aspects of my purchase.

That's why I've elected to rate my reviews based on the experience of that order alone. That way I have room to call businesses out when they do offer a crumby product if I buy again. I have no ongoing affiliation.

I'm still ironing out my review process to make something that makes for satisfied readers and companies alike.

Cool, cool. Just extra stressed cause in pain in real life. xP I'm nice and properly medicated now. Amazing how not being in pain versus being in pain has that effect on me.

I considered trying that one but decided against it. Does sound a bit overpriced. At least it would get knocked down to $160 with the current 30% off coupon. One thing I do expect with AAAAs is smoothness. The Purple Urkle wasn't, but it's being sold as an AAA.

I still have yet to try Live Resin... How does it stack up with shatter in terms of potency?

Live resin's potency is up there with all the extracts really. I really like the buzz it's hard to explain but it feels "wider", it's harder to categorize as sativa/indica, it's like everything at the same time, warm feeling, it's a real nice clean buzz, love it.

Live resin's magic though is the terps, it tastes soooo good and it's so smooth compared to other extracts. Only tried two strains of it so far (one from chronicstore and one from kingtuts) and both are at the top of my concentrates collection taste-wise. Special mention to CE's Lemon Sour Diesel HTFSE though, it's not live resin, but just as tasty.

Personally I see these ratings as only MoM ratings, if I compared any mom weed with some of the best weed I’ve smoked over the years nothing would reach past 5/10 if they were lucky.

I've never had weed approaching the best or worst I've ever had overall, from a MOM. Just has an overall solid batting average.

Thanks, Mirk. Live Resin is incredible not because it's more potent, but because it maintains a clear presence of the terps. It was fabulous, flavorful and extremely hard hitting. Treat yo self. Get a King Tut live resin.

The winy taste is there, but it's an AAA version of the strain, so I would say the nose isn't powerful enough to give a good experience, and it's on the drier side. It's great for the price but knowing your preference for a true quad, I don't think it'll knock your socks off. It did get me high though, decent potency. Great strain if you want a purple urkle joint though and I can see why it's an American classic. Personally I don't think I'll get it again.

Definitely a smoother smoke compared to other purple urkles I have burned in the past!

Just bought a oz of their urkle for $110 from their nye sale. Suppose to have ended Jan 1 but I still see it going on
