Doughboy Pink (Sacred Gardens, Gary in the Garden)

It's been some time since last having Gary's Doughboy Pink, trying 1.0 a while back. I found this batch to look very similar actually, perhaps a bit of a different structure as 1.0 appeared denser and tighter. That really greasy, resinous look is still there, sporting a darker colour palette of olive greens and purples. Heavy trichome coverage that are mainly of the milky variety with some amber tinged heads as well. Even though this one came out about a month ago, the buds are still sticky and healthy with an outstanding cure. If anything, I prefer my indicas to be a little aged and CBN heavy.

The profile of this Doughboy Pink 3.0 is something I've really missed. There are definitely some trademark pink qualities to it as it's pungent, dank, and gassy. More of an earthy kush versus sweet but the more classic pink notes are still there with hints of floral vanilla. Equally pronounced in both smell and taste and sure to scratch that gassy itch. The burn is exactly what I would expect from a resin rich flower like this. Super slow, producing a greasy oil ring and white ash. The smoke is thick and heavy but not harsh, just strong. If you have baby lungs then I would suggest holding off on the huge puffs.

It wouldn't be a complete package without a powerful, face slapper of a high and it definitely delivered on that aspect as well. Even with a strong tolerance, this stuff does the trick and then some. I can be feeling energetic and awake and two bong hits later I have a case of heavy eyes and constant yawns. It's also noticeably heady and extremely euphoric. Seems like an effective indica to have as a nightly smoke but also enjoyable anytime of the day. Just be prepared for a possible lazy, tired state to follow.

Purple Drank Breath (Sacred Gardens)

Another beautiful drop from SG. Purple Drank Breath, a ThugPug creation of Purple Punch x Mendo Breath F2. Beautiful, unique looking buds displaying lovely shades of soft greens and faded purples, all overshadowed by a swarm of fat, winding yellow-orange pistils. It doesn't even look like weed at times. Sticky when handled and a semi dense bud structure that appears fluffy but is rather firm to the touch. Neatly trimmed and impeccably cured as were the other Sacred strains I'll be reviewing or have reviewed.

The profile of this cut is quite different than I've experienced with this strain. Instead of grape candy/koolaid terps, this one is much more pungent and doughy, providing sweet breathy notes followed by a tasty purple punch finish that has a floral touch at the end. It excels on many levels, coating the mouth with a rich, full flavoured smoke that is similar to how it smelled. Instantly fills up the room with it's deliciousness, making it easily identifiable from even 2 floors below. Slow burning and smooth on the lungs, leaving behind a light grey ash and decent resin ring.

Full balanced hybrid effects that offer a decent potency and long lasting high. Promotes a strong, mood elevating stone with relaxing, yet uplifting qualities that bode well for anytime of the day. Not particularly heavy in the physical department but does a good job leaving you calm and mellow, feeling content and carefree. One of those strains that you want to savour for a while and don't want to finish all at once!

Mandarin Cookies (Mygrowguide)

Mandarin Cookies. An Ethos Genetics staple. Not my first time trying this strain but definitely my first time trying any Mygrowguide flower along with the Wedding Cake that I'll be reviewing. Smaller to medium light green buds that are generously coated in milky trichomes from head to toe followed by an ample amount of bright orange hairs. A good amount of stickiness/moisture to the buds as well with a solid cure.

Not the strongest citrus profile but I've had cuts of Mandarin Cookies that were similar in the past. Instead it's more on the gentler side, with soft citrus tones accompanied by subtle cookie nuances. Timid yet still enjoyable, though lacks a real flavourful punch. Reminded me a lot of Skookums Mandarin Cookies I had a few months back. Burns super smooth however, allowing for huge rips with little to no effects on the lungs. Also burns clean producing a light grey ash.

Potent, long lasting effects that begin with an almost instant cerebral high that's both uplifting and spacey, easily allowing you to drift off with your thoughts. Perfect for daytime use as it remains peppy and keeps you motivated and attentive throughout the whole duration. Some relaxation as well but nothing that prevents functionality.

ICC #9 (Sacred Gardens)

One of my all time favourite crosses. Wedding Cake x Gelato #33. The result : Ice Cream Cake. This one here by Sacred is some seriously sticky flower. Greasy and resinous, with a firm and dense bud structure. Mainly green in appearance with purple shading throughout and a slick layer of milky crystals. Definitely would save a lot of time using a grinder on this one. It breaks up to a perfect consistency and doesn't clump like something that is too fresh. Basically rolls itself in a joint.

Wicked terpene profile on this ICC#9, with dominating notes of sweet doughy gas followed by vanilla cake undertones. Dank, pungent and savoury, producing a full flavoured smoke that lingers on the pallet. The burn is clean and resinous, producing a light ash and heavy, yet forgivable, lung punching smoke. Great cure on this stuff.

The effects of this ICC are potent and very indica leaning, providing an instant headiness that's closely followed by a body buzzing, couch locking stone. Extremely relaxing and tranquil, not allowing you to do much as it's quite a lackadaisical high. Not an instant KO but it's sedating tendencies can eventually catch up and leave you lazy and ready for a nap.

Wedding Cake (Mygrowguide)

My second time reviewing Mygrowguides flower and it couldn't have been with a better strain. They really knocked it out of the park with this Wedding Cake in my opinion as it has everything I love and look for in a Cherry Pie x GSC cross. The buds are dense and very sticky, coated in a greasy blanket of trichomes. A mix of light and dark greens with subtle purple shading that are met with thin, twisting orange hairs. All wrapped up with an impeccable cure as well.

Has to be one of my favourite Wedding Cake profiles to date as it literally smells like a sweet vanilla cake. Just exploding with terps with a dank, doughy-creaminess that lingers for quite some time upon opening the jar and grinding up a bud. Translates perfectly to flavour with an incredibly smooth smoke that coats the mouth and fills the vicinity with an ever so sweet fragrance that's sure to be a crowd pleaser. Nice clean burn as well, producing a white coloured ash with a quick building oil ring.

The high is amazing and literally the epitomy of what I feel a hybrid should offer. Perhaps just slightly indica leaning for it's relaxing and calming properties, but also noticeably upbeat and outgoing, not feeling sedative until further down the road. A perfect strain for late afternoons, evenings and especially social outings. Just like a good dessert, this Wedding Cake will satisfy that sweet tooth.

Dosidos (Gastown)

Last but not least and certainly my favourite of the bunch, Dosidos. I've always had a love for the strain and have had multiple cuts but this one right here stood out from them indefinitely. Also my first time trying Gastown flower which I was very excited about. Beautiful appearance and dense bud structure, sporting a healthy green coat that's complimented by it's plethora of trichomes and vibrant orange pistils. Sublimely cured with a perfect amount of stickiness within the buds.

This Dosidos has a very sweet, dessert like smell straight out of the jar, reminding me of caramel or something of the like, followed by the slightest hint of pepper. Cracking open a nug immediately let out full bodied, pungent aromas consisting of dank earth and cookie dough. Absolutely delicious and even better when smoked as the flavours come out in abundance. Mainly sweet and doughy, with an earthy, OG dankness on exhale that sits heavily on the tongue. There's also some subtle floral hints as well. It smoked like a charm, producing a thick, creamy smoke that remained smooth throughout the joint. Very resinous and greasy, burning to a pure white ash.

It's no slouch in the potency department either. Starts with a powerful head high that can make it hard to focus on anything that requires a certain degree of attention as it's incredibly spacey. Definitely the type to throw on some music to or sit back and watch some TV. Especially when it's couch locking, indica side comes into play and leaves you feeling heavily relaxed and euphoric. It can be sedating depending on tolerance and amount but I find it perfect for a lazy day in when not much needs to be done. Would love to have this one again in the future.

Notes : Very simple, quick, and straight forward ordering process over wickr and was met with nothing but kindness and professionalism during all conversations. All the flower was of outstanding quality from recognizable growers/sources that w we've come to know and love. Really look forward to future drops!
