Re: Mota edibles raided
2so they are coming down on the edibles market....what next Elevated , Kind, Flawless , thompson , phant or phyto? extraction companies but be shitting dabs!
Re: Mota edibles raided
3Since they are selling edibles/candy, could be some child that came to school with mota product and they started an investigation or some parents that found them in their pockets. Just speculating there.beaum0nt wrote: Thu May 10, 2018 9:08 am so they are coming down on the edibles market....what next Elevated , Kind, Flawless , thompson , phant or phyto? extraction companies but be shitting dabs!
Re: Mota edibles raided
5All these websites will be next... Just watch there will be more then one raid. Following the new laws, edibles, extracts (NOT CO2) and vape pens are illegal. On top of a website being an illegal distributor, they sell things not permitted to be sold. It shouldn't be a surprise considering the RCMP has a 32 million grant to start raiding whoever they want in relation to a illegal weed business. They dont even need warrants to raid if the operation is evident.beaum0nt wrote: Thu May 10, 2018 9:08 am so they are coming down on the edibles market....what next Elevated , Kind, Flawless , thompson , phant or phyto? extraction companies but be shitting dabs!

6Thats some good points there. What are we going to do if they crack down websites.bobrakem wrote: Fri May 11, 2018 4:33 pmAll these websites will be next... I hope it become a "Jack in The Box" type of scenario, Website just pop up all over the place.
Weed just over floods the market. Once the market is over flooded, price crashes.
Government will realize that there plan to monopolize marijuana was a failure from the start, and the market gets opened up
to the free public.
That woud be a nice thought ........... aint it?

Re: Mota edibles raided
7this mail order thangs been here longer then the interwebs, hold onto your e-mails and keep a copy of an updated Mom list on back-up is all you really can do, Cap'n got it on lock with the back-up discord, but look at JJMeds went right into the spotlight when they were held ransom full page articles then just went back to business as usual.. The new laws are going to allow independent dispensaries in BC anyways (if I remember right)CP is a joke so don't know how they are gunna fix that level of incompetency ..

Re: Mota edibles raided
8I doubt it. There was an article recently saying how difficult it was for them to shut down MOMs, because of online anonymity and the fact that mail cannot easily be opened once in transit.bobrakem wrote: Fri May 11, 2018 4:33 pmAll these websites will be next... Obviously, they'll be stricter on unauthorized sales since they will be digging into their profits, but it's still going to be just as difficult for the RCMP to shut down the online dispensaries.
I don't think MOMs are going anywhere.

Re: Mota edibles raided
9BC Dispensaries are not going to be aloud to sell online. Im sure they will get around that.realgrimm wrote: Sat May 12, 2018 7:28 amthis mail order thangs been here longer then the interwebs, hold onto your e-mails and keep a copy of an updated Mom list on back-up is all you really can do, Cap'n got it on lock with the back-up discord, but look at JJMeds went right into the spotlight when they were held ransom full page articles then just went back to business as usual.. Im really interested just how quick and how much weed is going to come onto the market.
Are we going to see MOM's coming out of Alberta? Alberta is the place to be if you want to get into this industry.
Your wrong about the incompetency of our government. Trying to built a monopoly isnt incompetence.
Re: Mota edibles raided
10Lol the incompetency was directed at CP(Canada Post) making any ground breaking improvements to their parcel interceptions..DankBud wrote: Sat May 12, 2018 10:30 am

Re: Mota edibles raided
11Youre not wrong, but look at it this way. The RCMP has the grant already, something they did not have this whole time. 32 million dollars goes a long way when raiding. Raiding wasn't prominent the last decade because there was no government funding for it. Now there is. I personally think police investigators will order multiple packages around Canada and eventually crack down on where the MoM is sending from. BC will not be allowed to have online marj jane for the next year at least.realgrimm wrote: Sat May 12, 2018 7:28 amthis mail order thangs been here longer then the interwebs, hold onto your e-mails and keep a copy of an updated Mom list on back-up is all you really can do, Cap'n got it on lock with the back-up discord, but look at JJMeds went right into the spotlight when they were held ransom full page articles then just went back to business as usual.. Re: Mota edibles raided
12The link is 2 yrs old ..outdated and just heresy. Rcmp can easily track down mom sites and shut the ones selling illegal concentrates and edibles. Why else would the law omit extracts and bites from legalization other than to keep some sort of control on the situation.captcrunch wrote: Sat May 12, 2018 7:34 amI doubt it. Re: Mota edibles raided
15Crazy article to read/watch..
Wonder what exactly happened lol, but MotA is by far one of the biggest companies out there for edibles..
I am sure they will be able to bounce back and re-coupe, only downside is no production for a few weeks..
Since the website is down as well
Unfortunate this had to happen to a local company or anyone in general

Well for a big company like that, I would only assume someone gave some inside information about the place, or there was a stakeout at the post office?
Never heard of that occurring here yet, but those are the most viable scenarios that I would think to have a significant bust
Article mentions itself, neighbours never knew what was going on inside..
They will be able to re-coupe, however just stopping business for even a day hurts.
I can only imagine how they are feeling, as real ambitious entrepreneurs love to strive and continue to put in the hours they want/need daily..
Just know with every set back, is a setup for a comeback!
All the best to MotA
Re: Mota edibles raided
19With the possibility of 100k in fines, i have a doubt they'll start up again
Re: Mota edibles raided
20First update from mota:

It's been a tough couple of weeks and we are not out of the woods yet. With a heavy heart we regret to inform you that Mota has been forced to close for the next two to three weeks. We apologize for the delay in communication and are extremely saddened to be letting our members down in this way. Right now we are working extremely hard behind the scenes to reopen asap, so we can continue to fight for medical access. Thanks for reaching out to us with words of encouragement. We would not be able to make this stand without you, and it is because of you, we are not going to quit.

23This isn't incompetency, the technology exist, and they use it on all parcels leaving or entering the country. It's just not feasible to apply the same scrutiny to parcels traveling within the country. There is not enough in their budget to devote labour to searching all internal parcels. Every year, Canada Post is expected to meet their delivery commitments with an increasingly tighter budget.realgrimm wrote: Sat May 12, 2018 11:57 am Lol the incompetency was directed at CP(Canada Post) making any ground breaking improvements to their parcel interceptions..
It may have been possible to intercept parcels containing marijuana when it was completely illegal, but now that they have to distinguish between legitimate and illicit shipments the task becomes impossible.
