THIS is the guide that got me into it

THANK YOU - was never able to say it on reddit

Much appreciated.

I've actually come to prefer distillates, but if I find a good deal on CO2 oils I will try them again...

using Vape710's... and distillate now, but I still have my voodoodrips - didn't see the wholesale deal unfortunately.

Agreed, mango is like peach and the best...

And I made the mistake of filling while too hot, especially in non-ceramic wicks they just flood and you get the gurgle/spit back. Bleh.

Thanks again

Heyo! Just saw this repost again from the Reddit. Definitely has saved me a ton of money and frankly the time of going through the whole process for a dab. I will say that I 'graduated' from the 710 carts and was experimenting with sub-ohm tanks that had ceramic coils (CCELL). Currently I have found that the Vaporesso Guardian and the Vaporesso NRG SE are the best tanks for the mix (Shatter + Voodoo Drips). The Guardian holds 2ml and the NRG SE has either a 2ml or 3.5ml option.

The coils are interchangeable at about $10 for 3 coils on the SE and around $20 for 5 coils on the Guardian I find it to be a better deal. However, it is important to note that the tank is a higher upfront cost which I have found to be between $25-$35. The tanks are also top fill with a sliding lid so no leakage and they last me about 3-5 refills. Youv'e got a pretty good system so I'm just throwing out another option for consideration now that you have a battery mod rather than one of the pen batteries.

Anyways just wanted to say thanks for the guide all those months ago, my wallet really thanks you :)

Another question... I'm interested in trying the e-juice (liquid shatter) from CE. What type of attachment would I need for the Pico? I'm sure the liquid is much too thin for the v2.1 cartridges I use for distillate.
My favorite thing to put in those V2.1 cartrigdes is C02 oil mixed with a little distillate.Much better than the low grade shatter that CE is using .Much stronger and better flavor. The best thing about this mix is it's hasn't any of the toxic junk that CE puts in.VG and other E juice thinners and the like, are not good for us.

I don't know how refrigerating a full cartridge would go lol, they kind of like to be warm a bit while in use for the oils to properly Wick. i typically don't leave oils in a cart for more then a few weeks most of the time. I would definitely recommend storing any concentrates or your base materials in the fridge while not in use though.

cheers.

Ive not had the ejuice from Ce, so I cant comment on it really, but if its thin then ya a 710 is going to be no good. that's when I would look at a more traditional vape tank style setup.

I Agree with the Co2 comment, its my favorite material to vape as well. just happens to also be the most expensive option lol.. I haven't made a shatter cart for myself in a while now. to each there own though.
Not a very expensive option if you buy from BC Bud Dispatch. $40 a gram syringe, and it is just as good as the Quarry $80 a gram stuff.A little thin for the v2.1 cartridge but a tiny bit of distillate thickens it just enough.I recommend the vendor as well.Great MOM to deal with.

1. When loading distillate into a vape 710 cartridge don't warmup the distillate, warm up the glass of your cartridge (hairdryer, lighter etc.) instead. The distillate will slide down real nice and easy after.
2. Don't use distillate 'IMO' . Not that it doesn't work, it works but two things wrong with it.
(i) Bubbles! most distillates are too thick to allow bubbles that appear after a few tokes to get away, and it ends up preventing the wick channels from wicking. at least that was the case for me on 4 refills.
(II) Effects are just a tad dull, No character to it is the best way I can describe it.
Use HTE (HTFSE) instead. Thinner than distillate, Flavour full and full of terpenes; no mixing needed. Can be ordered from CE for ~ 50$.
Does the HTFSE work directly in a vape 710 cart without any mixing or anything?

RaNdMViLnCE wrote: Fri Apr 13, 2018 8:13 pm I wrote the core of this guide last year for our Reddit sub. I updated links in Feb, lots of good info in there for a beginner. any questions, just ask.

Good Day Frients! I’ve been getting allot of messages about Vaping oils & making oil mixes as of late. So I thought I would write a full “How to”, post it then I can just refer everyone to that when asked. This is going to get long, I want to make sure to cover all my bases. This is only going to cover cartridge based vapes that are fully sealed and not open air concentrate based units like https://humboldtvapetech.com/product/sa ... ree-coils/ .

**Edit Feb 2018, bought a Sai top air flow Bucket coil & a hydrotube all from humbolt vape tech. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT.** Ill have to do another guide for these, not going to talk about them again in this guide.

Also I’m not going to touch on 1 time use disposable units like the Toko or Phant sticks as I feel these are a waste of money considering it’s like 50$ for .4g of actual concentrates. (Though they do taste good and have good potency) maybe these are ok for a vacation where you can toss it out at the end. I don’t know, but there not for me.

Batteries!

So the first thing you are going to need is a battery. (Mod box, vape pen) This refers to the actual device you screw your cartridges onto. You want a battery that you can screw a 510 threaded cartridges into. There are so many choices out there I can’t tell you what to buy, but I can tell you what it needs to do and show you what I have. The battery should be adjustable voltage/wattage & be button activated.

There is also another type of battery used called buttonless. They work by sensing draws across a sensor in the pen when you inhale. These kinds of vapes only work if the cartridges draw their air from the bottom threaded end to activate the sensor. This is usually the battery everyone starts out with, and they are a great entry point into vaping if you’re buying prefilled cartridges as is... But, you will find them increasingly difficult to get to turn on as little bits of concentrates leak into it over time. These types of batteries are also not compatible with the good cartridges. (vape710 style) Battery's with an on button don't have the sensing hole and will outlast the others by 10x. Either top or bottom draw carts can be used in button style batteries. You should be vaping between 3.3-3.9V (7-8W). Personally I usually always vape at about 7 Watts (3.3v).

Here are the devices I have, like I said the choices out there are endless, check your local esig vape shop for low Voltage adjustable units. http://www.smokjoy.com/proshow-60-2-16-16-99-2.html this is my favorite battery of all the units I’ve owned, its small, lasts like a week of constant use and is fully adjustable. I think I paid 42$ at a local vape shop for it. This battery is sealed on the bottom side, meaning you cannot use cartridges that only draw from the bottom hole as the air inlet to the cartridge.(Typically very cheap carts are designed this way and it doesn’t bother me or my setup).

Update Feb 2018******

I am now using a Pico https://www.fasttech.com/p/7123800 and a smaller https://www.fasttech.com/p/5487401 both of these are excellent, and I would recommend either the smokjoy now after using them.

Here is a cheaper option, this pen style battery only lasts me like 1 days worth of vaping. (like a weekend day) then it’s got to be charged again for about 3 hours. https://herbaldispatch.com/product/vape ... y-320-mah/ it’s like 20$, so if you just want to see if your into all this without investing much this is the way to go. You don’t need to get it here, this is just an example.

I’m not even going to link to a buttonless battery because I honestly despise them.. Waste of money. Also button batteries that you cannot adjust the voltage. Avoid them as well. Though most of those are set to a hard limit of 3.7v. They work, I just don’t like them personally.

Now let’s talk about the cartridges.

For me I have spent ALLOT of money trying different cartridges. The best cartridges I have found are the v2.1 carts from Vape710.ca . With a close second to the Maxvapornail v2 Carts. Both of these are quality carts, but I like the draws better on the 710. It draws with 0 resistance.

With those being the best choice, they are quiet often sold out. (Which both currently are…) 710’s say they restock this month, so in light of that I sometimes use a china cart as a backup. Ill post the one I have the best success with.

Both the vape710 and the Max have ceramic cores with the coils wrapped around it. This method wicking is far superior to the cotton or silica based wicks in the cheaper or disposable carts. This will allow you to fill them about 4-6 times before they are pretty fucked. The cheaper china carts get about a 2 fill limit on them before the wicks are messed up and taste burnt.

I haven’t taken a max apart yet but I have disassembled a 710, cleaned it and put it back together for additional use. It’s not easy to reassemble though and you need some long pointy tip tweezers to get the coil leads back where they need to go when you’re done.(1 wire against coil wall, 1 wire between middle pin and gasket) its honestly some work and you may feel it easier to just use a new cart considering they are only about 8$/piece)

Vape710 5 pack of carts: https://www.vape710.ca/?product=5-disti ... -atomizers or singles from: https://torontohemp.com/products/vape-7 ... etal-1-0ml

Maxvapornail carts: https://maxvapornail.com/collections/po ... ic-core-v2

China carts: https://m.fasttech.com/p/7432601 again these are quick and dirt’s carts, you get a few fills then trash it. They do draw from the top as well so they still won’t work with a buttonless vape. I don’t have anything against these, but I have moved on past them. Careful sourcing cheap carts from china, build quality is all over the place. I personally have these from here that’s why I feel comfortable recommending them as a last resort.

OK now that carts are covered let’s move onto the actual vaping oils & making of mixes.

There are lots of concentrates to choose from, I’ll just touch on a few key ones.

Distillates - https://potguide.com/pot-guide-marijuan ... d-to-know/ Im not going to get into what it is, read the link above, basically very high THC and not much else. Super thick & will get you super high. But will trash your tolerance if you use it too much. Lots of people love it, personally I do not like the feeling I get from distillates.

Co2 Oils - https://honestmarijuana.com/co2-extract ... aa4874d565 Co2 oils are my favorite thing to vape hands down. Super potent, has all the taste that smoking the bud would (Or more) super thick as well, perfect consistency to put directly into a cartridge and enjoy. I love love love the Quarry brand oils. Quantum kush is to die for flavor. Again lots of brands out there to try from lots of MoM’s this is just my personal fav.

Shatters or other concentrates turned into oils:

This is going to take some explaining...

There are lots of products to break down shatter into oils, ill list and link a few, but I’m only going to touch on actually making the oils with 1 brand and not all of them.

Holyterp - http://holyterp.com/ I’m not the best person to talk about holyterps as I have never used the product, but from what I understand it is derived from cannabis and contains none of PG solution that the rest of the mixes do. I have heard people say they won’t use anything but this, and I have seen MANY people say they did not like the taste of what was made using it. Again I cannot comment on this only provide the link and some hearsay.

Vapeurextract - http://vapeurextract.com/ I have also not used this product, they appear to have 2 product lines, one that seems to be like holyterps & one that is PG based. If anyone has experience with either I also love to hear about it.

DBMixPro - http://www.dbmixpro.com/ this is what I used for the first full year of vaping, its PG based with a food grade emulsifier added to it. No flavor, but if you vape it on high temps 4+volts it may have a harshness to it. Pretty good at low temps. Never had a mix separate or go weird using it. It’s also hands down cheapest you can get . 50Ml is like 26$. And that’s allot of vaping dudes. If you looking for the cheapest stable solution, this is it.

Voodoo Drips - https://voodoodrips.com/ & https://wholesale.voodoodrips.com/colle ... etail-sale (Better deals if you buy a few bottles on the wholesale site!) I Love Voodo Drips! They are my current goto, they are Canadian so the product arrives quickly with no border crossing or hidden fees. The product is PG based same as DBmixpro, but it comes in many flavors, I have plain, banana, grape & mango. IMO the mango is the best. The plain is ok, you get to taste the concentrate more, but I find the mango to taste kind of like peach. And I like it allot. Banana and grape I don't care for them. I make my mixes thick, if it's a little cold it won't even move when I turn it upside down. Voodoo drips, waxliquidizer, DBMixpro and a whole pile of other products like them are basically the same product as far as I can tell, PG & food grade emulsifier at the right proportions to break down the concentrates and keep them stable.

Mixing!

I’m only going to cover mixing the PG products like voodoo. The other products are similar in process buy may differ a bit.

I will use an example of starting with .5g of shatter/concentrate, if you want to use full G just double this. Take the shatter/concentrate and put it in a small glass container, I use Oil 5er’s like these: https://imgur.com/gallery/a14li

then I add about 12 -15 drops of voodoo to it, put the lid on and heat it with a lighter, shake it/mix it. Keep heating and mixing it until it’s fully dissolved and looks like 1 consistent oil. Let it cool for a few minutes now, if you shoot that into your cartridge when it’s that hot it’s going to saturate the wick too quickly and oil will go inside the middle chamber excessively causing a gurgling or even oil getting sucked up the vapor path and into your mouth lol, yuck!. So give it a minute to cool. While it’s still warm but not hot use a blunt tip syringe to suck it out of the container and put it into the cart. You can get the blunt tips from amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00DXP ... UTF8&psc=1 .

A .5g concentrate will fill a 1ML cartridge FULL to the top. So a G will get you 2 full carts with this mixture. 1 cartridge will usually last me a week plus of regular usage. If you’re a light smoker it will probably last you allot longer … ideally you want it thick enough that when you turn a room temperature cart upside down it barley moves at all. So pretty think. BUT if it’s too thick your coil will not saturate properly and you will get that burning taste, if that happens stop using it and get a lighter and work the cart near the bottom for a few moments to help it absorb into the wick better. It may take you a while to find a perfect mixture for what you’re breaking down. EG, shatter that is rock hard when you start is going to be thicker in the end result then say a sappy live resin which when mixed at this ration might give you something too runny. This is why I also start with .5G concentrates, allows me to adjust the end result with more concentrates if needed. If you do it all in 1 shot and you make it too thin well that’s it. Nothing g you can do to fix it other than add another concentrated to it.

Well I think that’s all I can put forth at this time, if I think of anything else ill edit this guide.

Keep on vapin!

Cheers frients!

Any chance you'd be doing a video on this and upload it on youtube perhaps? 😅
