Barcelona > Amsterdam

I don't know how much hype Amsterdam has in North America, but in Europe it's been the "destination" for stoners since the 80's... but it's went straight down hill. Amsterdam is just tacky. Horrible red-light district, drug peddlers on every corner with shitty weather and even shittier weed.

Barca is the exact opposite. Sunny, clean, safe(ish), and the weed is top notch.

In Barcelona it's setup differently, they're technically "clubs" as opposed to Coffee Shops. You need to get a membership for a small fee (E.g The Plug BCN is 25 Euro)

This is still in it's early stages as the legalisation only started rolling out in late 2014, excited to see where it goes from here.

Barcelona safe? Went there a couple years ago and the trip adviser lady and hotel personnel told us to lock our doors while driving and never carry money on us because there are thugs everywhere stealing cars, jacking wallets and all kinds of nasty. Went relatively well other than seeing a homeless bum jacking it off in front of everyone in a crowded street (classy as fuck). We also got fucked over BIG time in a restaurant, cost us 250 euros for about nothing and we had to go fill up at McDo's so as to not to starve as soon as we walked out of there.

One of the worse trip destinations ever for me. The Gaudi shit was nice though... but that's about the only good memory I got from that place.
