I just recieved 7g of assorted terp star shatter today. I opened and sampled 3 of them. Everything seems great and I would say quality is on par with other "name brand" prepackaged shatters I've used in the past few years.

There is a bunch of chatter on reddit about the quality of this shatter and some suggestions that its laced with "filler". It seems fine to me and usually things get blown out of proportion on reddit.
Has anyone else recieved this shatter an had no problems. Am I missing something? Just looking for some confirmation before I ingest 7g of this stuff.

Thats very odd i got 12grams from them Gelato-Jet fuel- Pink bubba-Gas mask-Blue Dream-Moby dick and all left white shit in my water and some white lips . All had the same taste slight black licorice. Take my opinion as you wish but ive smoked alot of concentrates and this shit was nasty .... Not sure what to tell ya if u like it .... Ive tried it on my Ti nail - Quartz banger and still the same even in my Yocan it was awful felt like sand in the mouth ... buyer beware

Weird. Im not having those effects. I've tried pink kush, death star, gas mask and pink bubba. No abnormal residue in my water or banger. It's fairly potent. They taste different. Definitely no black licorice taste. I ordered Oct 1. Arrived today.

All the Terp Star strains I've tried so far are basically the same. They vape clean, but lack potency and terps. Ironic given the name, right?

Anyone know if this could be a byproduct of diverting resources into making THC Diamonds? I heard this brand makes really good premium Diamonds, which made me wonder if the shatter is a way to get rid of whatever leftovers they have from the diamond process.

End of the day, I've bought better shatter for the price, and don't see myself buying Terp Star again.

Yup i'm not a big shatter smoker myself, but my customers were complaining about white residue from their bong. I changed suppliers from Terpstar to Coast concentrates. I think i made the right move. Times like this I wish Sweetleaf was still doing prepackaged shat for 455/oz.

Very concerning to hear this happening to so many extracts recently. Thank you for being honest and letting us know.

Any information on why this has suddenly become a widespread issue? Can you tell us if this was your same supplier or a new one offering some unbeatable deal?

Surely various brands and house concentrates aren't all being supplied by one place. I've heard both "pine resin" and failed colour remediation tech as theories.

That's really saddening. How did you get ripped off by your connect? Do you know how many orders you sent out that were tainted? How did this slip past quality control?

We found the contamination in two ways 1. through customers and 2. made sure by thoroughly testing all of the strains with a rig.
It wasnt with every single package i tried however some of them were leaving a white residue on my lips and rig. This is unusual and not a normal occurrence with terpstar concentrates. Because of the highly competitive market for shatter it seems like a lot of the suppliers have been purchasing from the same connect to keep prices low. As to why now? The most likely reason is to create a certain distrust for "blackmarket" products. Keep in mind this happened right after the vaping problems in america. The reason it slipped past quality control; we have been purchasing off of terpstar for a long time and have never had problems before. He personally does all of his live resin and diamonds, he no longer does the shatter because there is no profit on it. He has acknowledged his mistake (like us) and is trying to personally make new product for us to sell on site for the interim. He has been a long time friend and we dont want to see his good reputation ruined from this. He truly does make some great product.
we caught this as quick as possible and can thankfully say only a couple orders received the bad product, we have contacted them and will send new product once it is in stock.

I'd like to take this opportunity to ask the question to the community how they feel about this whole scare. I don't believe for a second half the shatter suppliers in Canada suddenly started adding pine resin or whatever the hell product to their shatter, it makes no sense, most of these producers are also consumers and know the game, they know doing this will bite them in the ass real quick.

Someone on reddit suggested it could be contamination from color remediation, which seems to have picked up A LOT in popularity in the last few months. To me, it makes a lot more sense that producers would be mixing in lower quality/trim product in their "high end" and then color remediating it to make it look like higher quality product. Is it possible that CR would leave residue that would leave that white film on the banger, lips and teeth?

What's everyone take on this? Seems to me most reported cases are just paranoia, typical shit shatter but now everyone has a culprit to blame.

OP here. I'm just seeing this now. FFS I've been smoking this stuff and it all seems the same. It gets me high and I'm not getting this white residue.

I pretty angry that BMWD didn't send me an email explaining this and a recall of sorts. Not cool. Even though I'm not getting bad effects I'm going to be on the safe side and stop consuming it. Shame on you BMWD. You will not be getting anymore of my business.

They responded to me just to say that I wasn't part of the effected orders. It just means they can't go back in time to personally test the stock they sent back in September. I've always had my doubts about the quality of this shatter and now it's confirmed. Stay away.

It isn't worth the $140 I paid for this garbage to risk my health. Wish BMWD shared the concern.

Dear Tannerian1, you placed a $450 dollar order and demanded we front the bill after your original order as only 138.60 worth of shatter....
This is the reason we didn't reply because your demanding 3x the value of the initial product.

We are trying our very best to do what we initially set out to do which is replace all of the bad shatter. Im sorry but we sourced the shatter and have already lost a lot of money and can't afford to give people double or even triple what the initial mistake was.
