Got an email this morning with the subject line as psa spam alert. Here is the body of it.

We just wanted to mention that we are not associated with anyone named Mark or any other person acting as wholesale representatives for us. We only respond to inquiries from our main email [email protected]. Please be careful and only make inquiries directly to the email listed above or only through our website (www.bcmedichronic.ca). We have had two people mention of someone soliciting on our behalf and we want everyone to be aware of the possible scam

Anyone with more info. Posted on Reddit but it never showed up.

Yesterday BC medi posted the same message on discord. Just be aware.

I think it's about time for MOMs to stop asking about IDs. That's the second time something like that happened in the span of couple month.

Dam that's really to bad. Yea this stuff is starting to get old

This isn't even about ID's.. Just black out everything besides your name and birth date then what do you even care if the ID's get leaked?

They only sent to select customers or what, I didn't get an email.
Blacking out the ID does not work everywhere though. For me, it's worked like 3 times I think. People just need to be aware there are risks in dealing with MOMs, and you have to be ok with that. I guess a MOM that does not required ID, you don't need to worry about them saving your info and then getting hacked.

If a MoM won't accept a blacked out ID I won't order there, simple as that. If they accept it, I don't care if it gets leaked because it's useless blacked out. The only worry I've had with MoM's is them shutting down and running with cash or CP issues.

The thing is, I don't think most people will black out other info. I learned about it when terro told me about it. But that was like my 4th MOM I registered for, and all of them had my non blacked ID. I guess more people should know that.

Misrepresenting this as a leak or hack risks damaging the MOMs credibility on customer security. There is no mention, or indication, of compromised security anywhere in their email. Just some rando pretending to be their rep and trying to scam bulk sales. Nothing BCMedi can do about that except warn people.

Yea I only leave my name and birthday when providing the ID for MOMs.

I’ve heard a mom mentioning users submitting documents like passports for ID verification and thought that was crazy, I didn’t even think of people using other I.D. that wasn’t blacked out. I assumed everyone would at least do that much.

what concerns me is where did this scammer get the list of emails from and tie them to MoM customers?? previous leak?

What list of emails? He may have been messaging random people on Reddit. The BC Medi warning doesn't say.
